Send your hero out. Watch the road. Bring the loot home alive.

VEYDRIS is a free dark-fantasy RPG that runs in your browser. You pick one of eight oaths, send your hero on short expeditions across a ruined world, and every fight on the way is actually fought. Everything you find stays unsecured in your mission bag until you get back. If you die on the road, the bag is lost.

It's made by one developer and it's in early alpha. I'm looking for players who enjoy loot-driven progression and are willing to tell me what feels good, what's confusing and what's broken.

What you do

  • Choose an oath. Eight classes, each with its own signature mechanic, skills and look.
  • Pick an expedition. Every map offers three routes: 1, 5 or 15 minutes.
  • Travel Manual or Auto. In Manual mode the route stops at each enemy and you watch the fight on a combat stage, then press Continue. In Auto mode the same server-side fights are resolved without playback, and you can read the rounds in the report.
  • Make decisions on the road. Pick one of three sealed chests. Find material caches, keys, rare named enemies and sometimes a hidden side passage. Enter it and the main route pauses: three real fights, stronger regional variants and a guarded vault with at least one Rare item. Lose there and only the side-passage loot is gone.
  • Come home, or don't. A safe return secures the bag plus completion rewards. Retreating secures the bag without the bonus. Defeat on the main route loses the whole bag. Items you owned before you left are never at risk.
  • Gear up and push on. Compare finds, upgrade, reroll in the Forge, craft from materials and take on the region's guardian to open the next chapter.

Features (all in the current alpha)

  • 8 classes: Rune Knight, Starcaller, Shadowblade, Wildwarden, Ash Cleric, Stormforged, Veilweaver, Chronomancer
  • 10 regions, 10 guardians, from the Ashen Catacombs to the Worldheart Rift and Aurex, the Fallen Moon King
  • Timed expeditions (1 / 5 / 15 min) with Manual or Auto combat, chests, caches, rare encounters and hidden instances
  • Risky loot: unsecured mission bag, retreat vs. push-on decisions, lost-find reports
  • Loot depth: seven rarities, rolled affixes with a visible roll-quality score, item upgrades, six-piece sets with 2/4/6-piece bonuses, unique items
  • Forge & crafting: refine, reroll and craft with expedition materials
  • Ascendant Shards & Eternal Rifts: multi-wave rift runs with modifiers and cache rewards
  • Mounts & companions: mounts shorten travel time; some are rented at the stable, many can only be found on the road
  • Rotating merchant with a daily refresh, plus a player Auction House
  • Social & endgame: Arena rankings, guilds, raid wings (Normal / Heroic / Mythic), a shared World Boss, public hero profiles
  • Chronicle: branching story missions with remembered choices, plus co-op boss fights for 2–4 heroes
  • Server-authoritative: combat rolls, loot and economy are decided on the server, so your progress lives in your account

Progression

  • Hero levels 1–80 across ten campaign chapters. Each chapter's guardian has to be discovered, its exploration gate met and its level reached before you can fight it.
  • Talents and skills, combat doctrines, gear sets and item upgrades
  • Daily and weekly goals, a free season track, achievements, Bestiary, collections
  • Ascension with permanent upgrades once you've reached the top
  • New heroes pick their starter weapon from five randomly rolled level-1 weapons. Rare or better is possible.

Platform & controls

  • Runs in the browser on desktop and mobile (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari; current versions). No download. It can also be installed as an app window from the browser.
  • Mouse / touch: the whole game is click or tap. Collections can be swiped on mobile.
  • Keyboard: full focus navigation (Tab / Enter / Space / Esc), quick travel with Ctrl/Cmd + K.
  • Settings: music, effects, reduced motion and text size (Normal / Large / Extra Large).
  • Opens in its own tab: the button on this page opens playveydris.com in a new tab. The game uses accounts and server saves, which don't work reliably inside an embedded frame.
  • Account: the full game needs a free account (name, email, password). You can try a short guest prologue first without signing up; its progress carries over once if you register.

Early alpha: what to expect

VEYDRIS is under active development by a solo dev. Please treat it as a test build, not a finished game.

  • Balance, drop rates, pacing and UI will change between updates.
  • Some screens and texts are still being polished. A few enemies, bosses and raid bosses still use older scene art while new artwork is being made.
  • It's an online game. It needs a connection, and social systems like the Arena, guilds, market and raids depend on how many people are playing.
  • Save your recovery code when you register. It's the reliable way to get back into your account during the alpha.
  • No real-money purchases are available. Nothing in the game requires payment.
  • AI disclosure: the character, region, item and creature artwork was created with AI image generation and then selected, edited and assembled for the game. Code and in-game texts are also written with AI assistance; game design and balance decisions are my own.
  • Physical iPhone testing is limited so far; mobile was tested in browser emulation. Device reports are very welcome.

Feedback

The most useful feedback tells me what you did, what you expected, what happened, and which browser and device you used. You can send it in-game (account menu → Feedback) or post it in the comments here. I read every comment.
